Recently, the maleic anhydride project at the Tianjin Fine Chemicals Base in Dagang, Tianjin, has officially commenced. This marks the first major chemical project launched in the area since 2008 and represents a strong start for investment promotion in the region. The project is expected to play a key role in boosting local industrial development and attracting further business interest. Since the foundation of Tianjin Fine Chemicals Group Co., Ltd. was laid in June last year, the Tianjin Bohai Chemical Group has been actively working on the project. Over the past months, multiple departments have engaged in comprehensive planning and design, adopting a "high-level planning and open-type construction" approach. Each project has undergone detailed analysis, with professionals conducting extensive research on factors such as development potential, market demand, technological feasibility, process flow, environmental protection, and safety measures. Before moving forward, all necessary infrastructure assessments were completed, including water and electricity supply, industrial gas availability, waste discharge capacity, and transportation logistics. Based on these evaluations, the project proposal and feasibility study were prepared in line with circular economy principles and energy-saving and emission-reduction standards. This thorough planning ensures that the project supports sustainable and harmonious growth. The commencement of the 40,000-ton-per-year maleic anhydride project signifies a new phase in the development of the Bohai Chemical Fine Chemicals Base. It also highlights the city's commitment to advancing its industrial capabilities and fostering economic growth. It is reported that the Tianjin Ouhai Chemical Group’s fine chemical base is among the 20 major industrial projects prioritized by the city. Building these projects at a high standard is part of broader efforts to accelerate the development and opening-up of the Binhai New Area. The start of this maleic anhydride project is not just a milestone, but a new beginning.
