Recently, Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute and Shanghai Blue Soul Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. held a cooperation agreement signing ceremony. The two sides will comprehensively deepen cooperation in the field of marine environmental protection product development and technical services, and provide an integrated solution for ship exhaust emission reduction and waste liquid treatment.
     The two parties will cooperate intensively to jointly develop environmental protection devices, provide environmental protection and emission reduction design plans for new ships, install emission reduction devices for ships that have already been put into operation, and expand the application of domestically developed environmentally friendly treatment devices in the field of ship engineering.
     It is understood that the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has increasingly strict requirements on ship fuel emissions, and new regulations are being introduced to impose stricter control on sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides and particulate matter emitted by ships. The Marine Environmental Protection Committee (MEPC) will implement sulfur restrictions globally, and all ships sailing outside the Emissions Emissions Area (ECA) in 2020 will use fuels with a sulfur content of no more than 0.5%. For NOx emissions, diesel engines (purchased from the product warehouse) installed on ships built after January 1, 2016 must meet the more stringent MARPOL TIER II emission requirements when operating in the identified NOx emission control zone.
