Hoffman Estates firefighters get new contract

The *Hoffman Estates Daily Herald* recently published a story about a major development in the ongoing contract negotiations between the village and its firefighters' union. After months of back-and-forth, both sides have finally reached an agreement that not only resolves the previous dispute but also extends the contract for a full six years. Village Manager Jim Norris expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, noting that the deal was reached without the need for legal representation. “This is a win for everyone involved,” he said. “It shows what can be accomplished through open communication and mutual respect.” The original three-year contract, which had been in place since 2012, was initially extended through 2014 after a court-ordered arbitration. However, the village quickly appealed the decision, particularly over one controversial provision: the allowance of 72 hours of unpaid time off per year that could be used, carried over, or cashed out. With 83 firefighters on staff, this policy raised concerns about scheduling and financial burden. As part of the new agreement, the number of available hours was reduced to 48, and the union agreed that these must be used or cashed out within the same year they are earned. This adjustment helped ease some of the village’s concerns while still offering meaningful benefits to the firefighters. In terms of salary increases, the original contract included a 2.5% raise in 2012, none in 2013, and another 2.5% in January 2014. The updated agreement adds an additional 1% increase in March 2014, followed by 1% raises on January 1 and June 1 of each year from 2015 through 2017. Union President Dean Slater praised the compromise, emphasizing that saving taxpayer money was a key priority throughout the process. “We wanted an agreement that was fair for our members and responsible for the community,” he said. The settlement was officially announced on March 17, 2014, and is now in effect from January 1, 2012, through December 31, 2017. It also settles all outstanding grievances and labor practices between the two parties. Mayor William D. McLeod commended both sides for their cooperation. “It took time to reach this agreement, but I’m proud of how both teams worked together to find a solution that benefits everyone,” he said. Air To Air Heat Pump

Introduction to GENT air to air heat pump

The air to air heat pump is an inverter Air Conditioning designed for greenhouse, which can achieve constant temperature in the greenhouse. The unit uses air as the heating and cooling sources, and achieves the cooling and heating in the greenhouse by blowing air indirectly into the greenhouse. Its integrated design and flexible installation position make it an ideal choice for greenhouse constant temperature.

Unit features

1. Inverter unit: The through the wall air conditioner can automatically adjust its operating frequency according to the temperature changes inside and outside the greenhouse and the temperature parameters set by the user to achieve efficient and stable operation.

2. Multiple air outlet options: As for the air outlet of the heat pump air conditioner, jet, duct and bag air outlet options are available. Users can choose according to your specific needs to ensure the best wind direction and wind speed.

3. Installation flexibility: The heating and air conditioning units for greenhouse adopts an integrated design, and the installation position can be selected inside the greenhouse, outside the greenhouse or embedded in the greenhouse wall. The installation process of the air to air heat pump system is simple, and it can be operated by just connecting water and electricity.

4. Energy saving and environmental protection: The inverter technology used by the through the wall ac can effectively reduce energy consumption, meet environmental protection requirements, and is suitable for modern greenhouse management.

Therefore, this air to air source heat pump is very worthy of use by greenhouse users. Users in need are welcome to communicate with us for consultation.
