The Chief Engineer demonstrated to the reporter on the energy storage lighting technology that a brick coated with paint was placed in a dark place where there was no natural light, and the brick immediately showed a bright color, and it continued to light for 12 hours without any light source supplementation. If the interior wall of the tunnel is entirely coated with this kind of paint, the driver in the tunnel can obtain better brightness.

Sanli Expressway, which will soon be opened to traffic, is the first highway in Guizhou to use this technology. In the 14 tunnels on the Sanli Expressway, stepless dimming, color-changing temperature technology, and energy-storage lighting technology are applied. At present, the highway tunnel lighting tariffs managed by the Guizhou Expressway Group are approximately 50 million yuan each year, of which 80% are consumed by high-pressure sodium lamps and 20% are consumed by LEDs and other light sources. After the comprehensive application of the light environment application project, according to the current total electricity consumption, it will save 30.80 million yuan in operating electricity annually, and achieve an energy saving target of 61.6% overall.
