From January to October 2010, sales of these Japanese-made domestic brands of passenger cars in China totaled 2,146,900 units, an increase of 25.2% over the same period of last year, and the growth rate lagged behind the average level of China's narrow passenger car industry (37.8%).

These Japanese cars accounted for 23.5% of the total sales volume of narrow passenger vehicles in China (according to the statistics of the CSR team), which was a decrease of 2.4% from 25.9% in the same period of last year.

While sales of FAW Toyota resumed growth, GAC Toyota, another Toyota joint venture, saw sales decline in October after maintaining sales growth for nine months. In fact, the sales of GAC Toyota began to maintain its low-speed growth since June. From January to May this year, GAC Toyota's sales increased by an average of 85.5% per month, while the average monthly growth rate of sales from June to September has dropped to 8.5%.
