Kawasaki Heavy Industry Propeller Receives Order from Offshore Ship

Japan's Kawasaki Heavy Industries recently signed a CPP order with a total of seven tankers, five of which were built by South Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries and the other two by STX Offshore & Shipbuilding. It is reported that these shuttle oil tankers are expected to be delivered in 2012-2013 and will be used in the Brazilian offshore project.
Kawasaki Heavy Industries' propellers control the pitch of the propeller according to the specified load and sea conditions to optimize engine performance. Each of the two tankers built by STX will use one CPP, two azimuth thrusters and three side thrusters. The oil tankers built by Samsung Heavy Industries use one CPP and one azimuth thruster for each vessel.
