Datang New Energy's first wind power project to be connected to the grid this year

At 12:18 a.m. on August 31, with the input of start-up switches, the first wind turbine unit of Datang Baotou Huaiyang Wind Farm successfully connected to the grid, marking the first wind power project of China Datang Group New Energy Co., Ltd. in 2010. Datang New Energy Corporation entered Baotou, Inner Mongolia in early 2009 and signed a 2.4 GW wind resource development agreement and a 700 MW solar development agreement with the local government. Affected by the Inner Mongolia Power Grid, the company has recently developed a capacity of 300,000 kilowatts in the Baotou area. The first phase of the project is a 49,500 kilowatts wind power project in Baotou, Guyang. In December 2009, the project obtained the approval document from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission, and installed 33 direct-drive air-cooled 1.5 MW wind turbines produced by Goldwind Technologies.

Since the project construction began on April 15, 2010, all personnel of the project department have been striving for the goal of “excellent quality, talent, and efficiency”, internal organization has been put in place, and the construction period has been reversed, and the foundation and responsibility have been fulfilled. Focus on the separation between terminals and substation construction work, strengthen the management of contracting units, supervision units, and construction units, clarify their respective responsibilities, standardize their respective behaviors, insist on reciprocal of rights and responsibilities, and distinguish rewards and punishments, fully mobilizing the enthusiasm of all parties for construction. At the same time, we must coordinate externally and strengthen coordination with manufacturers, design agencies, local governments, power grid companies, banks, and other parties to ensure that equipment, design, grid access, and timely and accurate funds are in place. On July 31, the wind farm completed the basic construction of all the fans; on August 30th, the reverse power transmission task of the booster station was completed; at 12:18 on August 31, the first wind turbine was successfully connected to the grid for power generation.
