Working fire in Wheeling, 5-12-17

On Friday, May 12, 2017, firefighters from Wheeling responded to a fire at a detached garage located at 1460 Anthony Road. Upon arrival, emergency crews discovered the two-car garage fully engulfed in flames. The situation was severe enough to escalate the alarm to Code 4, prompting additional units from Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, and Long Grove to assist in the response. The garage and one of the vehicles inside were completely destroyed by the fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. However, the intense heat caused some minor damage to the exterior of the nearby home. Firefighters worked diligently to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further.
