Just got some breaking news! "EVERGREEN FIRE: Great news everyone! At yesterday’s meeting, the Mayor and the Board of Trustees gave the green light for buying a brand-new Rosenbauer 55′ Cobra Elevating Platform. This is meant to take the place of Snorkel Squad #3. They're placing the order today, and we’re looking at around a year for it to arrive."
I just had a look at some photos of similar trucks, like the Seagrave 55’ Snorkel from Wilmette, IL. That thing looks incredible—so sleek and professional. (Check out the pics below!) Evergreen Park’s new truck should look something like this, though I’m sure there’ll be some unique touches to make it their own.
Anyway, can’t wait to see how this all unfolds! It’s exciting to think about what this new equipment will mean for the department and the community. Let’s hope they keep us in the loop as things progress.
