Delfast Unveils More Details About Their New Electric Cargo Tricycle Designed for Small Businesses
About two months ago, Delfast, a pioneer in the electric bike industry, announced the initiation of their design and development process for the Trike, a three-wheeled electric bike, thanks to a grant provided by the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine.
Today, Delfast has shared more technical details about the upcoming model. According to Serhii Goncharov, one of the engineers at Delfast, the Trike features a complete electric frame equipped with a 750W rear motor and a 48V 40ah lithium battery. The Trike also comes with reliable Wellgo pedals, ProWheel crank, and headlights, making it both practical and user-friendly.
One notable feature of the Trike is its complete water resistance, which not only protects it from damage due to moisture but also makes it easy to clean and maintain. This is particularly beneficial for those operating in areas where the vehicle may frequently encounter rain or wet conditions.
The Frame of the Tricycle
The image above shows the frame of the e-bike, which has already undergone testing in the CAD system. While this isn't a 3D model, it represents the actual construction of the future Trike, complete with specified materials and technologies. "We conduct simulations based on this frame, experiment with different load scenarios, evaluate the overall weight of the Trike, and even mount other components of the e-bike on the frame using the program," explains Goncharov. Currently, the engineering team is in the midst of the construction phase.
Excitingly, the Trike boasts impressive capabilities, with the ability to transport goods up to 120 kilometers or 75 miles on a single charge. This makes the Trike a top-notch transportation solution for small businesses and individual entrepreneurs looking to deliver products to remote areas that are often challenging for standard vehicles to access. Additionally, the Trike can carry up to 300 kilograms or 660 pounds, accommodating almost any type of cargo. Although the maximum speed of 40 km/hr or 25 mph might not seem excessive, it is perfectly adequate for off-road and local delivery purposes.
Founded with a mission to reduce carbon emissions and promote an environmentally responsible community, Delfast has consistently pushed boundaries in the electric bike market. They made headlines when they set a World Guinness Record for the e-bike with the longest charge range ever. Their Partner, Prime, TOP 2.0, and Offroad models have since been shipped worldwide, reaching countries like Canada, Australia, Denmark, and South Africa.
Meanwhile, the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine plays a crucial role in supporting startups and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in enhancing their competitiveness both domestically and internationally. By fostering a simpler and more transparent business environment, the program helps Ukrainian SMEs capitalize on global trade opportunities. For more information, you can follow them on social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
As Delfast continues to innovate, the Trike stands as a testament to their commitment to providing sustainable and efficient solutions for modern logistics challenges faced by small businesses and entrepreneurs alike.
