The world's first 5RT-flex50DF marine dual-fuel low-speed machine put into commercial operation was successfully tested in Yuchai.

The 5RT-flex50DF mainframe is rated at 6000 kW and will be fitted to CCS , which will be installed on a 14,000 cubic meter liquefied gas carrier of Zhejiang Huaxiang Shipping Co., Ltd.

   The RT-flex50DF main engine is a new generation of low-pressure common rail dual-fuel engine. It adopts a low-pressure air supply system of no more than 16 bar . The main engine can rely on combustion gas for stable operation throughout the load range, and the fuel mode and gas mode can be directly and smoothly switched. In the test run, the performance indicators of the mainframe have been verified, and its operational economy fully meets the design requirements.

In gas mode, this type of host can meet the International Maritime Organization ( IMA ) Tier III emission standards without any post-processing measures . The emission test was completed in this inspection. In addition to the confirmation from the shipowner, shipyard and CCS classification society, BV Classification Society and DNV Classification Society also participated in the test and were recognized.
