It was an incredible day at the Wheeling & Lincolnshire event for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser on March 3rd, 2018. The atmosphere was electric as participants and supporters gathered to raise funds for childhood cancer research. I managed to snap some amazing shots that really captured the spirit of the day.
The highlight had to be the head-shaving ceremonies, where brave individuals stood up to show their support for kids fighting cancer. It was such a moving experience to see everyone come together, united by a common cause. One photo I took shows a group of firefighters who willingly shaved their heads, and another captures a mom holding her young son who had his head shaved too. These moments were filled with love, laughter, and tears of joy.
There was also a fantastic turnout of people with cameras and cellphones capturing every moment. The energy was contagious, and it felt like everyone there was part of something truly special. Another memorable shot features a little girl with a stunning lion face-painting sitting happily in her father’s lap. It’s these candid, heartfelt moments that make events like this so unforgettable.
I couldn’t resist taking pictures of all the creative face paintings and hairstyles on display. Each participant seemed to put their own unique spin on the event, whether it was through bold colors or intricate designs. One image shows a young boy with a vibrant cat face painting, looking absolutely thrilled.
As the day went on, the crowd continued to grow, and the sense of community was palpable. It was inspiring to see how much effort went into making this event a success.
