Autodesk Spacemaker goes global: Available to architects in US pilot and all AEC stakeholders in EMEA

I'm thrilled to share some exciting news today. For years, real estate developers have been the heart of Spacemaker, which is now part of Autodesk. As property owners, they’ve built entire teams and tech stacks to bring their visions to life, from site selection to project completion. Up until now, accessing Spacemaker required an invitation from the project owner. That’s about to change. Starting today, we’re handing over the keys to architects and other non-owner personas. This means more people will have the chance to experience how Spacemaker transforms early-stage urban planning. Let me show you just how powerful it is. [Embedded video: "A glimpse into Spacemaker | Early stage planning. Reimagined."] Architects: Hours Instead of Weeks Winning projects demands time and resources, yet the proposal phase can be risky and unpaid in many regions. But cutting corners isn’t an option. Architects must answer complex questions—like "What's truly feasible on this site?"—with precision. Often, architects present only three to five concepts when hundreds of possibilities exist. Clients need to see the best options, not just a few. That’s where Spacemaker steps in. Using generative design, AI, and advanced analytics, architects and developers can explore countless scenarios in mere hours instead of weeks. This is crucial because every decision carries weight, and there’s no rewind button once the project moves forward. Mistakes can cost millions, something I know firsthand as someone trained in architecture before founding Spacemaker. Data: A Game-Changer for Architects Digital tools empower design teams with data-driven insights, helping them make smarter, greener choices for future generations. By integrating data into every architect’s workflow, we can tackle global challenges head-on while reducing urban heat islands. Architects at Cobe in Copenhagen agree. They aim to craft spaces that enhance everyday life. With Spacemaker, their urban planners, architects, and designers gain deeper insights earlier in the process. Mads Birgens, Head of Urbanism at Cobe, calls it "an amazing tool for the early phase" because it lets them quickly test design ideas and validate their merits—whether it’s wind flow, sunlight, or noise levels. This approach helps them create superior projects faster. [Embedded video: "Spacemaker x Cobe Video"] What’s Next? One reason my co-founders and I joined Autodesk was their ability to expand globally. Today, Spacemaker is available in more countries than ever, bridging oceans to serve those designing cities and communities as populations grow and climate action accelerates. If you're in EMEA, reach out—we’d love to guide you toward better outcomes. U.S.-based customers eager to embrace generative design can join our pilot program for early access. Your feedback will help shape the future. In closing, I believe Spacemaker represents more than just a tool—it’s a movement toward smarter, more sustainable cities. Together, we can redefine how we plan and build for tomorrow.
