SAN FRANCISCO, March 31, 2021 — Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) has officially completed its acquisition of Innovyze, Inc., a leading provider of water infrastructure software, for $1 billion, net of cash and subject to working capital and tax adjustments. This strategic move solidifies Autodesk’s position as a top global provider of digital solutions for the entire lifecycle of water infrastructure, from design to operations. It also marks a major step forward in Autodesk’s digital twin strategy, paving the way for a more sustainable and digitally advanced water industry.
The combination of Autodesk’s and Innovyze’s technologies brings together complementary tools that serve a wide range of customers across the globe. With Innovyze’s strong presence in the water sector, this acquisition is expected to boost Autodesk’s growth by expanding its reach across the full water infrastructure value chain — from initial design and construction to ongoing operations and maintenance.
One of the key offerings from Innovyze is Info360 Insight, a cloud-based platform that integrates water utility data and applies advanced analytics and modeling to improve decision-making. The technology helps utilities manage their assets more efficiently and respond to challenges before they escalate into emergencies.
Innovyze serves over 3,000 customers worldwide, including major utility companies in some of the most populated cities across five continents. Its client base includes top engineering firms and environmental consultancies, making it a trusted name in the industry.
“Autodesk makes decisions based on long-term value for our customers and the planet,†said Andrew Anagnost, CEO and president of Autodesk. “With Innovyze, we’re not just acquiring a company — we’re investing in a future where water is managed responsibly and sustainably. This aligns with our broader commitment to sustainability, just like our recent investment in Spacemaker.â€
Colby Manwaring, CEO of Innovyze, emphasized the shared vision between the two companies. “For over 30 years, our mission has been to ensure safe and sustainable water management from cloud to ocean. With Autodesk, we can accelerate innovation and help communities build resilience against climate change.â€
This acquisition expands Autodesk’s digital twin capabilities, especially through the recently launched Autodesk Tandem. Together, these tools empower engineers, utility operators, and water experts to plan better, respond faster, and optimize operations for long-term success.
